The brown leather is a very dark brown, could almost be black, not a negative thing but be prepared if that's not the color you're going for. For the price this is an incredible piece. The segmented plates are great for range of motion and mobility but it's core is very rigid and you will need another person's help donning and doffing this. Overall it's a perfect item for LARP or other costuming needs.
